I am an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
I am also co-director of Vinken, co-director of the Energy Optimization, Control, and Markets Laboratory, associate researcher of the Solar Energy Research Center (SERC-Chile), and member of the UC Energy Research Center.
Before my current appointment, I obtained a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at The Georgia Institute of Technology, and an M.Sc. in Engineering and an Industrial Engineering degree with a diploma in Mathematical Engineering, from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
My research activities are centered in operations research, data science, and energy systems, with emphasis in optimization and stochastic modeling, and their applications in energy planning, power system operations, renewable energy integration, smart grids, and resilience.
I have worked with ISO New England, Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional, Comisión Nacional de Energía, the Chilean Ministry of Energy, Transelec, and Fraunhofer Chile Research, among others.
